Alpha Academy’s Otis shares picture with former tag team partner Tucker

Fans were recently treated with an unexpected Heavy Machinery reunion, as Otis and Tucker shared a frame once again. They first paired up in 2016 soon after Otis’s debut in WWE, forming the tag team Heavy Machinery. The team performed for four years, before Tucker moved to the Raw brand while Otis stayed in SmackDown.

The team disbanded on a bitter note, when Tucker betrayed Otis during a Hell in a Cell match in October 2020.Fans were over the moon to see the notable duo reunite, when Otis posted a picture with his former tag team partner, on his Instagram.

Otis took to his Instagram to share a picture of him posing with his former Heavy Machinery partner Tucker, who looks unrecognizable in the frame. The post was made on September 18, 2024, and it looks like the duo clicked it while training together. Tucker is no longer signed to WWE, after he was released from his contract on April 15.
Needless to say, fans were thrilled to see the duo back together. The comment section underneath the post was soon flooded with surprised reactions and requests for the two to officially bring back Heavy Machinery in the ring.

In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet for his podcast Insight, Otis reminisced about his time in Heavy Machinery and shed light on how the name came to be. “I remember Hunter [Triple H] was kind of questionable about it because its hard to say that [Heavy Machinery] without a lot of people immediately thinking like oh hard hats and I don’t know YMCA.”
He revealed that Triple H had been very influential in figuring out what the team’s image will be, emphasizing on body weight. Otis further went on to say that Tucker was confident about the name. “Tucky said ‘We are Heavy Machinery, we are,’ and he hit the desk like this, he’s very emotional,” Otis added with a chuckle.
Following the team’s disband, Otis went on to pair up with Chad Gable, with whom he won the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship. He is currently a member of Alpha Academy, the heroic stable at WWE Raw.
